Tool Presetter IF und PD

The »Tool Presetter« is an optical tool presetting system by Japanese manufacturer NT Tool that allows workpieces and rotationally symmetrical tools to be measured and set up simply and flexibly.

We developed both the product design and the concept and design of the touchscreen user interface. The interface follows the steps required to measure a workpiece, visually guiding users through the process so that no setting is overlooked. Unlike a conventional wizard, however, these steps do not follow a rigid sequence, allowing users to work flexibly. This makes the interface equally effective for beginners and experts, without the need for separate beginner and expert modes.

The product design focused on safety, ergonomic handling of spindles and tools, and comfortable touchscreen operation.
