Mobility Data Stories — Turning Mobility Data into Stories
A research team at TU Ilmenau analyzed data, trends, and challenges related to mobility and used their findings to develop a series of Data Stories. The goal was to present these insights in a way that is easy to understand and relevant to the intended audience. We supported the researchers by applying information design principles to visually refine and optimize the Data Stories.
Each graphic was designed to:
create a balanced composition of visually strong and subtle elements,
use contrast to guide attention to the most important information and ensure good readability,
visually highlight key messages and insights,
use recurring design elements to create consistency while making deviations from established patterns immediately noticeable, and
use layout and visual pathways to guide the viewer intuitively through each story.
