Graphic Design for Print and Digital Media, Visual Identity and Corporate Design
Communication design is about making information and messages clear and easy to understand for the people they are intended for. This means considering not only what we want to communicate, but also who we are communicating with and how they will perceive it.
These principles, clear visual communication, understanding the audience and considering cultural differences, also play an important role in our other design disciplines.
INTERPLAY WITH PRODUCT DESIGN
Our core expertise in user interface design also benefits from our knowledge of traditional communication design, including:
typography and legibility,
color theory and contrast,
visual phenomena and human perception,
cultural considerations and accessibility.
Information displayed on digital interfaces must also take into account the technical constraints of the underlying technology. This becomes particularly challenging with head-up displays (HUDs), where information is projected directly into the user’s field of view. The type of projection, spatial geometry, seating position, and users’ body percentiles all play a crucial role.
This is where our experience in creating 3D environments in CAD comes into play, allowing us to work with a high level of precision.
SYNERGIES WITH UI/UX DESIGN
Although traditional communication design now makes up a smaller part of our work, we still very much enjoy designing and developing concepts for:
visual identities
symbols, logos and slogans
type and typography
illustrations
animations
exhibitions
Our work also includes managing desktop publishing and print production, as well as the production and installation of exhibition displays and wayfinding systems.
COMMUNICATION AND GRAPHIC DESIGN
Even in transportation design, there are connections and synergies with graphic design for example, when designing an aircraft livery based on a company’s existing corporate design, or when conceptualizing and designing a cockpit layout.
