Hochrad Mitsubishi

At the 2003 Tokyo Motor Show, a high-wheel bicycle designed by us was used as part of the Mitsubishi Motors presentation. Its unusual appearance helped draw attention to the Japanese car manufacturer and its exhibition.

The design of the high-wheel bicycle was inspired by Mitsubishi’s SE-RO concept car, which was presented for the first time in Tokyo. The unconventional compact car featured a polished aluminum exterior and an innovative interior.

The high-wheel bicycle combines a traditional concept with modern technical solutions, including a front parallelogram fork, a rear single-sided swingarm, disc brakes, five-spoke wheels and an aluminum frame. The result is a coherent overall design that deliberately moves away from retro styling and gives the traditional high-wheel bicycle a distinctly modern character.
