FROM FEAR TO TRUST: 3D INTERACTION BETWEEN HUMANS AND INDUSTRIAL ROBOTS

The “3DIMiR” research project aimed to identify the causes and signs of fear during interactions between humans and industrial robots, and to adapt the robot’s behavior to create a work environment based on trust and free from fear.
Together with the project partners of the 3Dsensation research alliance, we developed methods and technologies to identify these fears in real-world scenarios using an experimental platform. We also tested different approaches, including gesture control and the use of light and sound signals to communicate information designed to reduce fear and build trust.
